Description
Ask anyone in the marshes near Brière and they will tell you: the elf was never meant to stay. He had a pot of gold to guard and a reputation to keep, and frogs, as everyone knows, are terrible company for anyone with serious business. Yet one wet spring evening he slipped on the mud, tumbled onto a lily pad and found himself nose to nose with two very surprised frogs.
They did not ask about his gold. They asked whether he could jump. He could not, or not very well, so they taught him, and by midsummer he could clear three lily pads in a single bound and land laughing. In return he taught them riddles, and the marsh has never been quiet since. This merry trio sits together on their lily pad, grinning as if sharing the punch line to a very old joke. They make a playful gift for a frog collector, a lover of folk tales, a child with a vivid imagination, or anyone who believes the best friendships are the unlikely ones.
