Description
Every quilter knows the moment. You stand up for a cup of tea, and when you return the cat has claimed the sewing basket, settling happily among the spools and pincushions as though it had been woven just for her. Gently moving her is out of the question, of course. She is purring, eyes half closed, one paw draped over a half-finished hem, so the stitching waits until after her nap and you drink your tea standing up.
This box is a little love letter to that companionable chaos. It will make a sewing circle friend laugh out loud, and it suits anyone who has ever found a thread trailing across the living room floor with a guilty tabby at the other end. Display it on a craft room shelf near the button jar, or on a sunny windowsill where a real cat might come to inspect its porcelain cousin with great suspicion and a twitching tail.
Inside and out
- A sewing basket with a cat as the star of the scene
- Around 3.25″ x 2″ x 2″
- Made by Rochard
- Genuine Limoges porcelain, decorated by an artisan’s hand in France
Lovely for a dressmaker’s birthday, or as a thank-you for the person who hemmed the wedding dress at midnight. Quilting guilds may find it the perfect raffle prize or retirement present for a longtime member, the one who always arrives with the biggest basket and a cat hair or two on her cardigan.
