Description
Overnight, the first real snow came, and by nine o’clock the whole hill behind the school was covered in children, dogs and sleds. Two brothers built their snowmen at the very top, gave them scarves and carrot noses, and then, just for a joke, sat them on the old wooden sled and gave it a push. Down they flew, faster than anyone, scarves streaming, past the oak tree and the bewildered postman, until they came to rest in a drift at the bottom, still grinning.
Rochard’s two snowmen are captured in exactly that giddy moment, side by side on their sled and dressed in festive attire. They bring a burst of winter fun to a mantel, a Christmas village, or a table set for holiday guests. Give them to a family that loves the snow, to best friends, or to a pair of brothers or sisters who still race each other everywhere.
