Description
By late March in Lille, everyone is tired of grey. Then one Saturday the flower market reappears in the square, and suddenly there are buckets of tulips everywhere, red and yellow and blush pink, their stems squeaking as the vendors wrap them in brown paper. Madame Leclerc buys a potted bunch for her balcony, carries it home on the bus like a trophy, and announces to her neighbours that winter is officially over.
This lively box offers that same declaration. Tulips stand tall in a painted flower pot, each bloom and leaf rendered in vibrant, detailed colour. It makes a bright gift for a spring birthday, a housewarming, Mother’s Day or a friend recovering from a long illness. Placed on a kitchen windowsill, it promises fresh flowers even in the darkest week of February, and it never needs watering.
At a glance
- A pot filled with upright tulips
- Rich, carefully detailed painting on blooms and leaves
- Measures around 2″ x 2″ x 2.5″
- Opens to hide a small treasure
- Made by Rochard, Limoges porcelain makers
- French porcelain decorated entirely by hand
Paired with a real bunch of tulips, it turns a simple bouquet into a keepsake that lasts long after the petals fall. Gardeners in particular will appreciate a bloom that never droops, wilts or needs deadheading, and children love lifting the lid to see what has been planted inside.
