Description
In a monastery library high in the Auvergne, a young novice once spent an entire winter painting a single page. Blue cornflowers climbed the margins, gold leaf shimmered in every corner, and the abbot declared it the finest work the scriptorium had produced in a century. The novice blushed and asked whether he might start on the next page tomorrow.
This square box carries that same devoted richness. Intricate flowers in deep, saturated colours fill the design, framed by luxurious gold accents that catch the light from every angle. It looks splendid on a writing desk holding stamps or paper clips, on a dresser for cufflinks, or in a cabinet among other gilded treasures. Offer it for a golden wedding anniversary, a fiftieth birthday, or a scholar finishing a long thesis.
Inside and out
- Neat square shape with crisp corners
- Intricate floral designs in rich colours
- Luxurious gold accents frame the decoration
- A formal, jewel-box look suited to classic interiors
- Hand-decorated in France on genuine Limoges porcelain
It has the gravitas of an heirloom and the charm of a gift chosen with care. Present it with a handwritten note tucked inside. The gold borders glow warmly under a reading lamp, and the flowers seem to change colour as the light moves through the day. Collectors of gilded pieces will want it front and centre.
