Description
Is that box moving? Everyone at the birthday table goes very still. The lid wobbles, a blue ribbon slides sideways, and suddenly a whiskery face with bright black eyes appears over the edge. Nine-year-old Théo shrieks so loudly the neighbors come to the window. The terrier, unimpressed, sneezes once and then climbs out to inspect the cake.
This box freezes that burst of joy in porcelain, showing a terrier peeking from a wrapped present finished with a blue bow. It is perfect for celebrating a new puppy arriving home, a dog’s gotcha day or a child’s birthday. Place it on a bedroom shelf or beside a framed photo of the first day together, when everything felt like a beginning. Shelter volunteers and breeders who match families with their new companions will appreciate it, too, because they know exactly how that moment feels. It is especially sweet given alongside a real collar or a squeaky toy.
