Description
Fidèle had a habit of waiting by the garden gate at half past five every evening, tail thumping against the gravel, long before anyone’s car turned into the lane. He knew the sound of every family engine. He knew which pockets held biscuits. He knew, somehow, when someone needed a heavy head laid on their knee. For fourteen years he was the first to greet and the last to settle at night.
When he grew old and finally slept for good beneath the apple tree, the house felt far too quiet. His family kept his collar on a hook by the door and told stories about him at every holiday meal. This angelic dog is a gentle way to honor a companion like Fidèle. It makes a deeply thoughtful sympathy gift for a friend who has lost a pet, a keepsake for a family remembering their dog, or a comfort for a veterinarian’s office. Place it beside a framed photograph, on a bedside table, or on a mantel where a loyal friend once loved to curl up by the fire.
