Description
Before dawn on Christmas morning, the house was still and silver with frost. Léon crept downstairs in his socks and stopped at the bottom step, eyes wide. Beneath the tree stood a tower of parcels wrapped in bright paper, and peeping over the topmost box, between the loops of a golden bow, was a teddy bear with a stitched smile and a very curious expression. Léon tiptoed forward. The bear, he would later insist, winked.
That magical first glimpse is preserved in this festive piece, which shows a teddy bear among stacked gift boxes finished with a gold bow. It is a perfect stocking stuffer, a gift for a teddy bear collector, or a seasonal decoration that comes out each December alongside the nativity and the advent calendar. Set it on the mantel among the greenery and candles.
