Description
Summer in the Luberon smells of lavender and warm earth. Pauline, aged six, has been given her very own patch at the end of the garden, and she takes the job extremely seriously. Each morning, before croissants, she fills her tiny green can at the pump and staggers down the path, sloshing water over her sandals. By August her sunflowers tower over the fence, their faces turned to the sun, and she insists on introducing each one to visitors by name.
Gardeners understand that patience and sunshine can turn a seed into something glorious. This little pot of sunflowers celebrates exactly that. Give it to a green-fingered friend on her birthday, to a new homeowner planting a first garden, or as a thank-you to a beloved teacher. It looks wonderful on a kitchen windowsill beside fresh herbs, or on a potting bench in a sunlit conservatory.
