Description
Creak. The attic door swings open on its rusty hinges, and Rose, aged ten and fearless, climbs the last step with a torch. In a corner beneath the eaves, behind a broken rocking horse, sits a pile of dusty leather books with strange symbols on their spines. A small black spider guards the top volume. Rose blows away the cobwebs, opens the cover, and from somewhere behind the chimney comes a faint, unmistakable cackle.
Halloween is the perfect excuse for a little delicious fright, and this box is all treats, no tricks. The stack of spell books, the spider and the witch make a wonderful gift for a fan of fantasy novels, a teacher who reads ghost stories every October, or a friend whose house is the spookiest on the street. Display it on a bookshelf among jack-o’-lanterns and candles, or on a desk beside a cauldron mug.
