Description
“Barnaby, no.” But Barnaby has already found the scent, and there is no stopping him. Nose to the ground, ears sweeping the leaves like two velvet brooms, he trundles off across the orchard with the determination of a great detective, his owner trailing behind with a lead and a sigh. Twenty minutes later he is found beneath the picnic table, gazing up with those mournful, liquid eyes, a stolen sausage roll clamped proudly in his jaws.
Every Basset owner knows that look, and this box captures it perfectly. It is a wonderful gift for someone who has just welcomed a hound puppy home, a veterinarian or dog walker, or a family remembering a much-loved companion. The long ears and gentle gaze are painted with real affection. Keep it on a bookshelf beside a favorite photograph, on a bedside table, or on a desk at work where those soulful eyes can offer quiet sympathy on difficult days.
