Description
Number 14, rue des Remparts, was the tallest and thinnest house in town, four stories stacked like books with a chimney perched at the very top. The children who lived on the highest floor worried all December. Would Santa manage such a long climb? Would he even fit? On Christmas morning they found sooty boot prints on the hearth and a note: “Lovely view from up here.”
This box shows Santa together with a tall house, a scene that delights anyone who lives in a city apartment or a narrow townhouse and has ever wondered how Christmas finds its way in. It is a wonderful housewarming present, a gift for an architect or a city dweller, or a playful addition to a holiday village display. Stand it on a bookshelf or a windowsill overlooking the street, and it will tell its own little story every December. Somewhere up on the fourth floor, a child is already counting the stairs.
