Description
What would you keep inside a book that cannot be read? Lucie decided it should be a secret. She was nine and spending the summer at her grandmother’s house in the Loire, where château towers rose over every bend of the river. Each afternoon she pressed a new flower, folded a note, or tucked away the smooth pebble she had found on the path to the bakery.
This pink porcelain book feels made for that sort of private treasure. Its cover is painted with a picturesque castle scene, towers and all, framed by the soft pink binding like an illustration from a beloved storybook. It looks lovely propped on a bookshelf between real volumes, or on a girl’s dressing table beside her hairbrush. Give it to a daughter, niece or friend who loves France, fairy tales or both. The castle seems to float above its painted landscape, its rooftops and towers rendered with the careful charm of a picture book, and the pink binding gives the whole piece a gentle, romantic glow that sits beautifully beside fresh flowers.
