Description
Grandpapa found the egg in the hollow of the old oak, or so he said, and he brought it inside wrapped in his scarf. All winter the children watched it on the windowsill, sure that something wonderful would happen. And one morning in March, when the youngest crept downstairs before anyone else, she found that it had: the egg had opened, and a small, round-eyed owl was sitting inside, blinking at the first light of spring as though he had been there all along.
This decorative egg holds that very surprise, an owl nestled inside who can be lifted out entirely and set beside his shell. It is a charming piece for owl lovers and egg collectors alike, and a playful gift for Easter, a baby announcement or a birthday. On a bookshelf or a nursery dresser it invites small hands to discover the owl again and again, and it looks lovely grouped with other eggs in a collection, where it always has a secret to share.
