Description
She had been told to wait until after dinner, but the candy cane had been hanging on the lowest branch of the tree all afternoon, and Juliette was only five. When her aunt finally unhooked it and pressed it into her hands, she held it up like a sceptre and did not eat it for nearly an hour, simply admiring the stripes, turning it this way and that so the lights caught the shine. Eventually, of course, she took one very small lick.
This box shows a young girl dressed in her Christmas best, holding her candy cane with obvious delight. It is a sweet present for a daughter, granddaughter or niece, especially for a first or memorable Christmas, and a lovely addition for collectors of children’s holiday figures. Set it on a nursery shelf, a little girl’s dresser, or a mantel among family photos where it will capture the innocence of the season year after year.
