Description
Parcels were his speciality. From the first of December, the ginger cat took up his post at the front window and greeted every delivery van with a loud, rusty meow. He inspected each box the moment it came through the door, sniffed every ribbon, and only then withdrew to the windowsill for a nap in the thin winter sun. Between deliveries, of course. He had standards, and a reputation on the street to maintain.
This box shows an orange cat sitting beside a window dressed for Christmas, a warm splash of marmalade colour set against the festive decorations. Set it on a kitchen sill, in a cosy reading corner or on a mantel lined with holiday cards. It pairs beautifully with other cat pieces, but it is every bit as charming on its own. Its hinged lid hides a little space for treats of the non-edible kind, such as a spare button or a lucky charm. Visitors who have their own ginger tyrant at home tend to burst out laughing the moment they see it, because they recognise that expression of complete authority.
