Description
It began innocently. On the first of December the little tree in the shared hallway of the Montmartre apartment building stood alone on its round platform. Then someone left a parcel at its foot. By the following week there were six, then twelve, each one from a different neighbor, each addressed to someone else in the building: the concierge, the old violinist, the twins on the fourth floor.
By Christmas Eve the presents nearly reached the lowest branches, and the residents who had barely nodded on the stairs were sharing mulled wine on the landing. This box celebrates that kind of generosity, a Christmas tree on a round base with wrapped gifts gathered all around it. It is a sweet present for a neighbor, a building manager, a coworker in a Secret Santa exchange, or a friend who believes small gestures can change a whole community.
