Description
Midnight considered herself in charge of October. She sat on the stone steps of the house on the hill every evening, tail curled neatly around her paws, keeping watch over the pumpkins the family had carved. The best one was hers, of course, and she claimed it by sitting on top of it, golden eyes glinting in the candlelight. Trick-or-treaters approached with caution and left with great respect. Only the youngest dared to reach out and stroke her, and Midnight, who was secretly very soft-hearted, allowed it.
This box shows a black cat on jack-o’-lanterns, a classic Halloween image that is both striking and charming. Black cat devotees will treasure it, as will anyone who loves the season, or a friend whose own dark-furred companion rules the house. Arrange it on a mantel among candles, by the front door beside a bowl of treats, or on a bookshelf beside some well-thumbed gothic novels. Unlike the pumpkins on the porch, these jack-o’-lanterns will never soften or fade, so she can keep her throne for years.
