Description
Imagine the night sky over the hills, the shepherds huddled around a fire, and then, all at once, a blaze of light and a single golden note ringing across the valley. In every Christmas pageant in the village of Saint-Rémy, the child chosen to play Gabriel gets the shiniest costume and the loudest line, and this year it is Mathilde, who has practised her announcement so many times that the family dog now leaves the room whenever she starts.
This box celebrates the herald angel in all his glory. Gabriel is shown raising a brass instrument to his lips, painted in warm and luminous colors. Inside there is space for a rosary, a medal or a tiny memento, making it a meaningful choice for a christening, a confirmation or a parish musician. Three inches high, Gabriel stands proudly on a mantel beside the nativity, on a piano or on a bedside table all year long. Golden highlights pick out the instrument and give the whole piece a festive, celebratory glow.
