Description
Washington in cherry blossom season: a school group from Ohio climbs the steps of the Capitol, craning their necks to see the great white dome. Their teacher, who has made this trip with students for twenty-two years, still feels a lump in her throat as she tells them about the people who built it and the ideas it was built to protect.
This box captures that sense of history and pride. The Capitol Dome is rendered with intricate details and vibrant colors, from its columns to the statue at its crown. It opens as a small treasure box, a place for a campaign button, a commemorative coin or a ticket from a tour. It makes a handsome accent for a home office, a classroom or a display case. Give it to a civics teacher, a political science graduate, a newly elected official or a congressional staffer, or to anyone who has walked the National Mall and felt the weight of history.
