Description
Departures board flickering, a coffee in a paper cup, a passport tucked into a coat pocket: there is a particular hush to an airport just after sunrise. Through the tall windows, a plane lifts off the runway and banks into the pale sky, and everyone watching feels a small tug of wanderlust, whether they are flying that morning or not. A little boy presses his nose to the glass and counts the wheels as they fold away, already planning where he will go when he is grown.
This miniature airport catches that lift-off in porcelain, with a little plane caught mid-flight above the terminal.
