Description
Heavy snow clouds hid the moon that year, and the forest path lay pitch dark. So Father Christmas lit his old brass lantern, gathered the last bright parcels in his arms, and set off on foot toward the little cottage at the edge of the woods where the children had left a candle burning in the window. The lantern swung, the snow squeaked underfoot, and an owl hooted somewhere overhead. He was right on time, as he always is, though nobody ever quite understands how.
This lantern-bearing Santa has an old-world, storybook feeling that collectors adore. Place him on a bookshelf among wintry tales, a windowsill beside real candles, or a hall table where guests arrive out of the cold. He makes a warm present for a friend who loves traditional Christmas, a godchild opening gifts for the first time, or anyone who keeps a lamp burning for loved ones far away. Tall and narrow, he slips easily between books or picture frames, making him a good choice for a crowded holiday shelf.
