Description
Cock-a-doodle-doo! At five in the morning, long before the church bell, the rooster on the Lefèvre farm climbs to the top of the woodpile and announces the day to the entire valley. The neighbors groan into their pillows. The dog lifts one ear. The hens ignore him completely. But he does not care in the slightest, standing tall in the pale light with his feathers shining, utterly convinced that the sun rises only because he has commanded it to.
The rooster has long been an emblem of France, and this vividly painted bird carries all that pride and swagger. It makes a delightful gift for a Francophile, a farmhouse kitchen lover, a collector of French country decor or anyone who rises early and likes to be reminded of it. Place it on a kitchen windowsill, an open shelf beside copper pans and blue-and-white crocks, or a breakfast table where it can keep an eye on the coffee pot.
