Description
The cellar beneath the château smelled of oak and damp stone, and the old vigneron moved through it with a candle as if visiting old friends. He paused by one barrel, tapped it twice, and declared that this one would be ready the year his granddaughter married. She was four at the time and more interested in the cat, but he was right about the wine.
This little crate gathers the pleasures of a Bordeaux tasting into the palm of your hand. A miniature bottle, a glass and a corkscrew sit ready for a celebration that never runs dry. It makes a delightful gift for a wine club host, a sommelier, or a couple back from a trip through Saint-Émilion, and looks splendid on a bar cart. Every piece is tiny enough to make guests lean in, squinting at the corkscrew and laughing at the impossibly small glass. Conversation follows naturally, and someone always ends up telling the story of the best bottle they ever opened.
