Description
Valentine, the florist on the corner, wraps every bouquet in white paper and ties it with red ribbon. It has become her signature: people across the neighborhood recognize her flowers from a block away, bobbing in shopping baskets and bicycle crates, a flash of scarlet against the white. Her customers say they would know one of her bouquets anywhere in Paris.
This rectangle has the same crisp charm. Delicate floral motifs are framed by red trim, a smart edge that makes the flowers look freshly wrapped. It holds rings, earrings or trinkets, and it suits a vanity, a desk or a bookshelf beside framed photographs. Give it as a birthday gift, as a thank-you to a florist or gardener, or to anyone who loves the classic pairing of red and white. It also makes a sweet early present on February fourteenth.
