Description
Down the lane past the lavender fields live Pistache and Noisette, two donkeys who have never been apart for a single day. In the morning they wait at the gate for the baker’s van, ears swiveling, hoping for a crust. In the afternoon they doze in the shade of the plane tree, nose to tail. The village children bring them carrots after school and swear the donkeys know each of them by name.
Two donkeys make a sweet symbol of loyal friendship, and this box would be a lovely gift for a best friend, a sister, or a couple who have weathered many years together. It is also a natural choice for anyone who loves farm animals, volunteers at a sanctuary, or has fond memories of donkey rides on holiday. Set it on a kitchen dresser or a sunny windowsill, where it can bring a little Provençal calm to busy days. Donkeys, after all, are famous for their steadiness.
