Description
Behind the counter of every small business, there is a frame on the wall, and in that frame is a single dollar bill: the very first one the shop ever earned. Monsieur Lambert’s café is no exception. He has turned down offers to have it replaced with something grander. “That dollar,” he tells new customers, “paid for nothing and is worth everything.” Then he pours them a coffee, on the house, if they ask nicely.
This box salutes that kind of hard-won pride with a design representing a one dollar bill, painted with detailed colors. It holds a small treasure, perhaps a lucky coin, a pair of cufflinks or the business card of a first client. It is a witty gift for bankers, investors, accountants and financial advisors, a fine way to mark a promotion, a new partnership or the opening of a business. Set it on an office desk beside the calculator, on a bookshelf among business books, or near the front counter of a shop, where it can quietly encourage prosperity.
