Description
Every morning, a pair of doves lands on the balcony railing of an apartment in Bordeaux. They coo, nudge each other’s feathers and wait for the elderly couple inside to scatter crumbs from breakfast. The husband claims they have been coming for twelve years; the wife insists it is thirteen. Either way, they agree, the birds remind them of themselves. They have named the pair Romeo and Juliette, though they admit the ending is far happier.
Featuring two lovebirds perched on a heart, with a heart-shaped base, this romantic piece captures the tenderness of a lifelong partnership. Reach for it on an anniversary, at a wedding, on Valentine’s Day, or as an engagement present for a couple who seem made for each other. Let it greet the couple from the nightstand each morning, on a dressing table beside wedding pearls, or on a mantel among photographs from a lifetime together. A small love note tucked inside will turn it into a keepsake to be opened, reread and treasured for years.
