Description
Five o’clock in the morning, and the harbour in Maine is still dark except for the lights of the fishing boats. Old Thomas has been hauling traps from these waters for fifty years, and he can tell by the weight on the line whether there is anything inside before it breaks the surface. Today the first trap comes up dripping and heavy, and there in the corner sits a lobster, glaring at him, claws raised. “Good morning to you too,” Thomas says, and laughs, the gulls already wheeling overhead in hope of breakfast.
This box captures the morning’s catch. Shaped as a classic lobster trap, its slats and netting painted in weathered tones, it comes with a removable porcelain lobster that can be placed inside, perched on top, or set beside it as if it has just made a daring escape. Seafood lovers will grin at it, beach house shelves were made for it, and nautical collectors will find it a cheerful addition. Small and charming, it looks wonderful next to sea glass, shells and old fishing floats.
