Description
Can you count one sheep? Good, then you are already asleep. Or so the old shepherd in the hills above Limoges used to tell his grandchildren on summer nights, when the flock rested in the meadow and the crickets sang. He knew every animal by name and swore the smallest lamb was the cleverest, always finding the sweetest clover first and the warmest corner of the fold when the evening turned cold. The children never believed him, but they always fell asleep.
This petite sheep suits so many settings. Place it in a nativity scene beside the manger at Christmas, nestle it among pastel eggs at Easter, or add it to a collection of farm animals on a child’s bookshelf. It also makes a gentle gift for anyone named Lamb, anyone born under Aries, or a friend who keeps a small flock of their own. Inside there is space for a ring or a tiny charm.
