Description
Downhill, faster, faster! Little Arthur has built his box cart from an old crate, four pram wheels and a great deal of determination, and now he is racing it down the lane past the bakery, scarf streaming, cheeks pink, shouting with joy. His grandfather, watching from the gate, remembers building exactly the same thing in exactly the same lane sixty years ago, and grins. The cart wobbles, the wheels rattle, and a cat on a wall watches in disbelief. At the bottom of the hill, Arthur skids to a stop, turns around and immediately starts pushing it back up for another go.
This box captures that spirit of boyhood adventure. A boy rides a box cart bike, painted in lively colors, his outfit and the cart itself rendered in fine detail. He looks thoroughly pleased with himself and ready for the next hill. Inside there is room for a small treasure, perhaps a first tooth, a marble or a lucky coin. On a bookshelf in a boy’s bedroom, a grandparent’s mantel or a desk, it brings a smile and a dash of nostalgia. It is a sweet gift for sons and grandsons, a first birthday, a christening or a new big brother.
