Description
The keys are handed over at eleven on a Tuesday morning. There is no furniture yet, just echoing rooms, a sticky kitchen drawer and a garden full of somebody else’s roses. Inès and Malik sit on the bare floor of the living room with two coffees from the bakery down the road, looking at each other in disbelief. It is theirs. Every crooked doorframe of it. That night they eat takeaway pizza by candlelight because nobody can find the light bulbs, and it is the best dinner they have ever had.
This little house is made to celebrate moments like that. Painted in a lively palette and bearing the Home Sweet Home theme, it is just over an inch wide, the kind of small treasure that fits on a windowsill above the kitchen sink or on the first bookshelf to be put up. It would be a welcome present at a housewarming, for new homeowners, or for parents finally downsizing into the cottage they always dreamed of. Whatever the address, it says welcome home in the warmest possible way.
