Description
Long after the family has gone to bed on Christmas Eve, a small gray visitor creeps out from behind the woodpile. He has dressed for the occasion, naturally, in his finest holiday attire, and he has claimed the matchbox beside the hearth as his own private stage, bowing to an audience of sleeping cats. Come morning, only a crumb of cheese and a few tiny footprints in the hearth ash remain to prove he was ever there.
This charming Rochard box tells his story in miniature: a festive little mouse perched atop a matchbox, as if waiting for someone to strike a light for the candles. Set him on the mantel among the greenery and stockings, or let him peek out from a tabletop village. He is the sort of gift a child remembers for decades and the sort a grandmother unwraps from tissue paper every December with a fond sigh. Slip him into a stocking for the collector who swears she has everything already.
