Description
Old Madame Fournier had a saying for everything, and her favourite was the one about pigs taking to the sky. Her nephew would finish his studies when pigs flew; the village bakery would open on Mondays when pigs flew; her husband would learn to cook when pigs flew. So when all of it eventually came true, the family gave her a winged pig for her mantelpiece, and she laughed until she had to sit down. To this day the winged pig keeps watch over her postcards and her reading glasses.
This cheerful fellow is ready for that kind of celebration. His round body is painted in vivid colours, and a pair of wings unfurls from his back as though he has decided, quite calmly, to defy the laws of nature. He is a perfect present for the dreamer who finally did the impossible, or for anyone whose farmhouse kitchen needs a little mischief on the windowsill. Collectors of whimsical figures tend to give him pride of place, right at eye level.
