Description
Plink, plonk, plink. Six-year-old Margaux is practicing her first piece, a waltz that keeps tripping over its own feet. Her grandmother, arranging roses in a vase atop the piano, does not correct her. She simply hums the tune a little louder until the small fingers find it. By the end of the afternoon the waltz is nearly whole, and the roses have shed petals onto the keys.
This porcelain grand piano blossoms with that same sweetness, its curved case covered in painted florals and its lid lifted as if ready for a song. A matching porcelain bench comes with it. Set it on a real piano, a music teacher’s studio shelf or a bookcase in the living room. It is a lovely recital gift, a thank-you for a dedicated instructor or a birthday surprise for any pianist. The bench can sit tucked in close or pulled out as if someone is about to take a seat and begin playing.
