Description
Étretat, late summer. The cliffs glowed white against the sea, and the wind kept trying to steal Lucie’s hat. She had set up her easel right on the pebbles, determined to paint the arches before the tide came in. A fisherman mending nets nearby kept glancing over her shoulder and finally announced that the sea in her picture was much too blue. She painted it bluer.
This easel shows that very kind of moment: a girl painting by the seashore, absorbed in her work. It is an enchanting gift for an aspiring artist, a watercolor student, a beach lover or a grandmother who took up painting in retirement. Display it on a studio windowsill, a seaside cottage mantel or a desk where creative work happens. At three inches tall, it adds height and grace to a collection of smaller pieces. The painted scene invites a closer look, and many find themselves imagining the sound of waves and the smell of salt air.
