Description
Off the coast of Brittany, the fishing boat cut its engine, and suddenly the sea was full of them. A pod of dolphins surfaced all around, arching through the gray-green water, so close you could hear them breathe. Right beside the hull, a mother rose with her calf tucked against her side, the little one copying every move. The captain, who had seen it all before, still took off his cap.
This dolphin and her calf carry that same joyful, protective bond. It is a meaningful gift for a new mother, a marine biologist, an ocean swimmer or a family who spends every summer at the beach. Set it on a bathroom shelf among seashells, on a beach house mantel, or in a nursery decorated in blues and greens. Its graceful curves look lovely from any angle, and at over three inches tall it has real presence. Divers and sailors often treasure it as a reminder of an unforgettable encounter at sea. It also makes a touching Mother’s Day surprise for anyone who loves the ocean.
