Description
Somewhere past the last oasis, where the sand turns the color of honey at dusk, a camel named Zahra refused to move until she had finished her dates. The caravan waited. The stars came out. When at last she rose, she carried the merchant’s daughter home so gently that the girl fell asleep in the saddle and dreamed of the sea.
This camel has that same unhurried dignity. It makes a lovely souvenir for someone who has ridden through Morocco or Egypt, a curious gift for a child who loves maps and far-off places, or a characterful companion on a desk crowded with travel books. Set it beside a brass lamp and a postcard from Marrakech, and the whole corner feels a little more adventurous. There is something comforting about an animal that refuses to be rushed. On a busy desk, this one seems to remind its owner to slow down, take a breath and enjoy the view, wherever the road happens to lead next.
