Description
Soot on the hearthstones. A half-eaten cookie on the plate. One carrot missing from the reindeer’s bowl. The children crept downstairs at first light and found the chimney so stuffed with toys that a wooden soldier had tumbled onto the rug and a doll’s arm stuck out between the bricks. Their mother claimed she had heard bells in the night. Their father claimed he had heard nothing at all, though there was a suspicious smudge of soot on his slipper and a cookie crumb in his mustache.
Here the box takes the shape of a Christmas chimney with toys, capturing the moment of discovery that every child dreams about. It makes a cheerful gift for a family with young children, a grandparent who loves the magic of Christmas morning, or a collector of Santa-themed pieces. Set it on the real mantel, among stockings and evergreen, or on a side table near the tree, where it hints that Santa has already come and gone. It looks especially lovely tucked between real stockings, as if one more gift had slipped down the chimney after all the others.
