Description
Hortense the hippopotamus believed she was a ballerina. Every afternoon at the river’s edge she rose up on her tiptoes, twirled once, twice, three times, and then collapsed into the water with an enormous splash that soaked every crocodile within a mile. The other animals groaned. The flamingos rolled their eyes. But Hortense always bowed deeply, certain she had been magnificent.
This playful hippopotamus has all of Hortense’s confidence. Round, jolly and painted in rich colors, it has a whimsical charm that makes everyone in the room grin. Open it to tuck away a ring, a coin or a tiny note that reads you were magnificent. It suits an animal lover, a child who adores the zoo, a friend with a big personality or a collector building a menagerie of wildlife pieces. Let it hold court on a bedroom dresser or a playroom shelf, where its cheerful bulk is impossible to overlook, and where it can remind everyone that grace comes in every size.
