Description
Bath time at Grand-mère’s house was never quick. She would fill the little enamel tub by the stove, test the water with her elbow, and lower the baby in while humming the same old lullaby from Normandy. Bubbles drifted up and popped on tiny fingers. A yellow duck bobbed in circles, and every time it bumped a knee there was a squeal of pure delight that echoed all the way down the hall to the kitchen.
This petite box holds all of that splashing happiness: a baby in a tub of bubbles, with a rubber duck for company. It is a lovely gift for a baby shower or a christening, and later it becomes the perfect place to keep a first tooth or a curl from a first haircut. Set on a nursery shelf, it will one day remind a grown child how small they once were. Godparents in particular find it a gift with real meaning, something to give now that grows more precious every year.
