Description
Every Thursday at five, the sound of scales drifted out of the blue house on the corner. Madame Fleury had taught piano there for forty years, and every child in the neighborhood had sat at least once on her velvet bench, feet dangling, trying not to look at the clock. Those who stayed long enough learned that music, like porcelain, is all about patience.
This piano carries that devotion in miniature. Its vibrant blue finish is bold and joyful, and delicate details pick out the shape and features of a real instrument. It makes a beautiful gift for a piano teacher at a recital, a student passing an exam, or a lifelong musician who already has everything else. Set it on top of the real piano, beside the metronome, and keep a tiny pencil or a ring inside. Its glossy color brings to mind summer evenings, open windows and someone practicing a nocturne in the next room. Even the smallest painted details feel considered, giving it the presence of an instrument rather than an ornament.
