The IRS has launched a website that will allow Americans to track the status of economic stimulus payments approved by Congress to help during the coronavirus pandemic.

More than 80 million Americans should expect to receive stimulus payments in their bank accounts on Wednesday, according to the Treasury Department. The department said the “vast majority” of eligible Americans can expect payments within the next two weeks.

The IRS launched https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment on Wednesday, which allows taxpayers to check payment status, confirm how they want to receive payment (direct deposit or check) and enter their bank account information to make a direct deposit.

For people who, for various reasons, do not file tax returns, there is also an online non-taxpayer portal where you can obtain the information needed to receive payments.

The government started issuing one-off payments this week. Most adults who earned up to $75,000 will receive a payment of $1,200, while married couples who earned up to $150,000 can expect to receive $2,400. Parents will receive a payment of $500 per child. No, You Will Not Be Getting A 4th Stimulus Check Any Time Soon

An IRS spokesperson told VERIFY that no bill has been passed to authorize a fourth stimulus check for 2023. The previous three stimulus checks were part of legislation passed by Congress and signed by the sitting president. The first $1,200 check was part of the CARES Act passed in March 2020. The second $600 check was part of the spending package passed in December 2020. The third $1,400 check was included in the American Rescue Plan passed in March 2021.

The Inflation Reduction Act, passed by Congress in August 2022, and the government’s fiscal 2023 omnibus spending bill, passed in December 2022, contain no mention of economic impact payments or stimulus checks.
