Coronaviruses belong to the group of viruses belonging to the Coronavirinae subfamily of the Coronaviridae family and are considered as possible causes of respiratory diseases, the symptoms of which are flu, fever, runny nose, cough, breathing difficulties, pneumonia and pneumonia (1). As this global pandemic strikes more than 200 countries, the virus, in addition to having a huge impact on public health, has completely hijacked the rhythm of our daily lives, hit the global economy, and forced countries to close their borders (2, 5). Data published by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) show that pollution in some centers of the Covid-19 epidemic, such as Wuhan, the United States, Spain and Italy, has been reduced by up to 30% (3) . While the United States, Spain, Italy, Great Britain, France and Germany are the countries worst affected by infections and deaths, India is also facing the heat and the numbers are not as devastating. Environmental pollution stems from industrialization and urbanization, which are the main sources of the huge release of greenhouse gases (6). Most recent studies have focused more on combating this deadly virus, but few focus on the indirect beneficial environmental impact of this pandemic (3, 6, 7). Climate experts predicted that greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions could drop significantly (nearly 8%) since World War II (8). This reduction in the level of greenhouse gases is a result of the restrictions and social distancing adopted by the governments of different countries to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. These closure measures seriously affect the country’s main commercial activities (9). As a result, industrial plants and power plants stopped production and the use of vehicles decreased significantly. This led to a sharp decrease in particulate matter and nitrogen dioxide (NO.) concentrations
